Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation is surgical procedure designed to increase the size and enhance the shape of the breast. As a result of this procedure self esteem can be improved and you will find easier to dress in certain style of clothing. Women have different reasons for undergoing breast augmentation. The best candidates are:

• Women who feel their breasts are too small and looking to improve their figure.
• Women who have lost breast volume as a result of pregnancy and nursing.
• Women whose breasts have lost volume and shape as a result of aging.
• Women who have a significant difference in the size of both breasts.
• Women who have lost a significant amount of weight (usually in combination with a breast lift)

The procedure involves the surgical placement of an implant behind the breast. The implant can be placed either behind or in front of the chest muscle depending on the patient’s own tissues.

Extensive information regarding the implants used will provided and discussed at the time of the consultation.

Breast Lift

The Breast Lift is a surgical procedure designed to improve the shape of the breast. The goal is achieved by repositioning the glandular tissue and nipple/areola complex in a higher and more pleasing position.

Good candidates for the procedure are women who have lost breast shape after pregnancy and breast feeding. The incisions are placed around the areola and if necessary, on the lower portion of the breast in a vertical fashion. If volume needs to be restored an implant can also be added at the same time.

Breast Reduction

Breast Reduction is a surgical procedure designed to decrease the size and weight of the e breasts. It is one of the most commonly performed procedures in Plastic Surgery.

Large breasts are usually inherited as a familial trait and have a tendency to become larger and heavier with pregnancy and aging. Women with large and heavy breasts often suffer with shoulder pain, neck and back pain. Shoulder strap grooving and occasional irritation of the skin located under the breasts can be present.

Often women find difficult participating in sports and other athletic activities because of the size and weight of their breasts.

The procedure is individualized to the patient’s frame and wishes. Almost always a breast lift is performed in conjunction with the breast reduction. The incisions are placed around the areola and on the Lowe portion of the breasts. Rarely a no-scar breast reduction can be performed by liposuction only.

Breast Reconstruction

The reconstruction of the breast after mastectomy or lumpectomy is a very useful procedure to restore a sense of self and femininity. The reconstruction can be performed at the same time of the mastectomy (immediate) or later, usually after a few months (delayed). The breast can be reconstructed with the patient’s own tissues (usually from the abdominal region) or with implants.

During the initial consultation all the different options will be discussed to help you to make the very best informed decision.
