Ideal candidates for breast reduction are in overall good health and need relief of symptoms due to excessively large breasts, including one or more of the following symptoms:

CONSULTATION
During your initial consultation, Dr. D’Amore will meet with you to evaluate your needs and goals. As you tell him about yourself, your desires, and your medical history, he will recommend the best options to help you meet your needs Then the two of you will decide on a plan for which breast reduction technique will be best for you.
TECHNIQUES
The breast reduction procedure takes between two to three hours to complete.There are several different techniques used in breast reduction surgery, depending on the amount of correction needed and your individual situation.
LIPOSUCTION
In rare cases, liposuction technique can be used to remove excess fat. This technique only allows a small reduction in the size of the breasts and is not indicated if a lift is also necessary.
WISE PATTERN BREAST REDUCTION (ANCHOR)
For breasts that need a more significant reduction, the anchor pattern is often used. An incision is made around the nipple, vertically down the breast, and horizontally along the breast crease. Excess tissue is removed, and the breasts are lifted and shaped.
RECOVERY
After surgery, most patients feel immediate relief of many of their symptoms. After one week of recovery, most patients can return to work and resume their daily activities. However, patients should avoid strenuous activities for at least three weeks. Dr. D’Amore will recommend specific guidelines customized to your personal situation to guarantee the best recovery experience.
COST
The cost of breast reduction surgery varies depending on the amount of correction needed. However, if you are experiencing painful symptoms or physical discomfort, your health insurance may cover all or at least a portion of the cost. RESULTS AND BENEFITS
Results of breast reduction are immediately noticeable. Some swelling may occur during recovery, but it will resolve within a few weeks. Afterward there will be scarring along the incisions, but these are placed as unobtrusively as possible and will fade over time. Our office will also work with you to minimize scarring by providing specialized scar treatment creams, laser treatments, etc. if needed. Although the breasts will continue to age, the results of breast reduction surgery will be permanent as long as you maintain your weight.
