Face and Neck Lift
FACELIFT, NECK LIFT, AND FAT TRANSFER
Over the years, you’ve likely noticed the onset of fine lines and wrinkles developing on your face. As you get older, these conditions tend to worsen, forming deep creases and sagging skin. To eliminate the signs of aging and restore a youthful appearance, Dr. Tancredi D’Amore performs various facial rejuvenation procedures, including:
- Neck Lift
- Fat Transfer
These three procedures are typically performed at the same time to achieve complete facial rejuvenation, but they can also be performed separately if only a specific goal is sought.
Candidates typically have one or more of the following conditions:
- Sagging in the midface
- Nasolabial folds (creases around the nose and mouth)
- Loss of fullness in the cheeks and cheekbones
- Jowls (drooping skin in the lower cheeks)
- Vertical bands on the neck
- Hanging skin in the neck
During your personalized consultation, Dr. D’Amore will meet with you to discuss your desires and gain a thorough understanding of your goals to determine the best procedure(s) for you. He will also review your medical history and any medications you currently are taking. Dr. D’Amore will then conduct a physical examination of your face and neck.
Facelift surgery is performed on an outpatient basis. After a light general anesthesia is administered, Dr. D’Amore will make incisions in the hairline of the scalp and around the ears to remove excess skin and fat tissue. During surgery, the very thin soft tissues (SMAS) that have lost elasticity are placed under youthful, natural tension. The skin is then redraped over the newly achieved foundation without undue tension, which will provide a very natural result because the skin is not placed under high tension. A neck lift is then performed without any additional incisions by placing the soft tissues of the neck under youthful tension using a rather new technique that originated in Europe. Dr. D’Amore always individualizes the procedure according to the person’s features; if fat is present in the chin area, it is gently removed before the tightening procedure. Once the structures under the skin are resculpted and lifted, the remaining skin is tightened to reveal a more youthful face.
Even though a neck lift is usually part of the face lift procedure, For younger patients experiencing laxity in the neck area only, an isolated neck lift can be performed on an outpatient basis. After a light general anesthesia is administered, Dr. D’Amore will make tiny incisions in the hairline and behind the ears to remove excess skin. The neck muscle is also tightened. The remaining skin is then redraped to reveal a smoother, more youthful-looking neck.
This procedure is performed on an outpatient basis. Once a light general anesthesia is administered, Dr. D’Amore will remove fat from your body through syringe liposuction and gently inject it into areas of your face that have lost volume to smooth wrinkles and lines.
Before injection, the fat is treated and purified by gentle centrifugation to achieve a better take of the fat cells.
Dr. D’Amore utilizes a special technique to significantly decrease the usual bruising and swelling that comes with a traditional facelift. Patients should prepare for approximately two weeks of downtime before they will feel confident being seen socially and resuming more strenuous exercise. Non-strenuous daily activities such as working from home and walks can be resumed after three or four days.
The total amount of a facelift, neck lift, or fat transfer differs between patients depending on the amount of correction needed. During your personalized consultation, our patient coordinator will provide you with a detailed cost sheet.
